What dslr camera upgrade?

Hi all i'm wanting to know if anyone could recommend what camera next TO BUY at the min I own a NIKON D7000 which is half decent compared to previous cameras (canon 1000D THEN CANON 550D) i'm mainly after picture quality the reason I ask is the first two cameras I owned I first thought were good until someone I no owned a sony bridge camera that made a mockery of the 1000D IN TERMS OF PICTURE QUALITY hence the upgrade to the 550D then after meeting a guy at randon doing the same hobbies showed me the quality of the Nikon d7000 pictures again mine looked poor. After hours of research and having to sell all my canon equipment as they wouldn't fit the Nikon I bought the D7000 for a while I was happy ""UNTIL"" the same friend has now bought a sony a77 and guess what his pictures seem better ""YET WHEN I LOOKED ON THE NET AND USED COMPARE CAMERA SITE and YOUTUBE"" it showed the Nikon 7000 to be the better camera EVEN ON PAR WITH CAMERAS LIKE CANON 7D OR EQUAL TO THE 5D "NOW I'm NOT So SURE… WOULD UPGRADING TO THE D7100 JUSTIFY THE MONEY SPENT OR CAN ANY ONE RECCOMED ANY INFO AS I've HERD ITS MORE THE LENSES THAN THE CAMERA TO A DEGREE… ANY ADVISE IS THANKFUL… IDEALLY ID LIKE TO STICK TO NIKON AS All MY STUFF IS THAT MAKE

What kind of view finder does my Nikon D70 have, a Pentaprism or Pentamirror?

I was cleaning my old D70 yesterday since I had recently gotten back from vacation. I got a little mud on the front of my D70 caused my me almost slipping into a lake lol. The mud came off and all is well.

However what I noticed though while cleaning the view finder is that with the battery removed from my D70 the view finder is blurry and dark. But if I hold the camera up to my eye and insert the battery the view finder brightens up and comes back into focus.

I did this same test with my D7000 which I know has a Pentaprism. Once the battery was removed the view finder got dark and blurry. However once the battery was reinstalled the view finder brightened up and came into focus.

However when I did the test with my D3100 the view finder remained bright and in focus with the battery removed. The D3100 has a Pentamirror.

So anyways does this mean the D70 used a Pentaprism? I checked online. DP review said in the specs that the D70 used a Pentaprism but Nikon's USA site doesn't say what the D70 used in the specs.

This is just something that made me curious. The view finder on the D70 seems to be brighter and slightly more detailed than that of the D3100 which makes me think the D70 may have used a Pentaprism.

Best Underwater Camera?

I go to Greece every summer and I want an underwater camera I can use. I have a Nikon D3100, but the underwater housings are four digits. I'm looking for a compact camera that can go underwater. I was looking at the Go Pro Hero 3 white, but I saw people's pictures and the quality looked really bad based on what I saw. I have a budget of about $200.

How to record high quality videos on nikon D3100?

I'm a beginner in photography. Nikon D3100 captures good images but besides that i want to learn more about recording videos in this camera. Recently, i've heard it records 1080p which is good but when i record it personally the quality seem to be a bit noisy and not so clear. Please help. I tried different kind of settings. I saw on many video samples of Nikon D3100, the quality is excellent. I don't know what i do wrong.
I have tried this:

changing to movie quality to

-1920 x 1080p 24fps
-1280 x 720p 30 fps
- 1280 x 720p 25 fps'
- 1280 x 720p 24fps

turn noise reduction to ON.

Active D-lighting ON.

Any specification should i change? Or did i do something wrong? Please do not answer negative comments or ill delete straight away. I would appreciate so much for helping me.
