On a Nikon D3100 camera, when I take out the battery to charge, will my pictures be lost?
I have two batteries. I was just wondering if I have to save my pictures on to a computer before I change the battery?
No. The photos are stored on the memory card.
No.
The pictures are stored in the memory card. There are lots of ways to lose your pictures even if already saved in the memory card. Format is one and deleting is another. Copying your pictures to the computer is a good way to make sure you don't lose any pictures you take. Here are other tips regarding the memory card.

No you don't have to save picture first before you change batteries. You have a Nikon D3100 which you might as well sell. If you are not going to at least attempt to read the instruction book. I have 45yrs under my belt in this business and what do I do? I put the strap on the camera, hang the camera around my neck. THEN I read the instruction book and try out all the functions on the camera. BUT you are a "professional" why do you need an instruction book? Because as far as I'm concerned cameras are no longer made. These things we now call "cameras" are computers with a lens attached! Gone are many dials and levels replaced by the "menu" settings! It is technical even for me, I'm not an "intuitive" computer user! And neither are most people-READ THE MANUAL over & over! It takes me about 3 times before I'm comfortable with the camera!
Lol… You're funny. I hear they're having Open Mike at the local Comedy Club next week.
