Nikon Dx zoom Nikkor 55-200mm f4.0-5.6 AF-S VR IF G ED?
Nikon Dx zoom Nikkor 55-200mm f4.0-5.6 AF-S VR IF G ED.
Just a simple ques? Will this work with NIKON D5100? Would ut autofocus with D5100?
Ammar,"
What this means is that all the NIKON lenses labeled ending with the "G" require a Camera with a focusing Pin like the Nikon D5000 has. The Nikon D5100 does not have the capability to focus this or any NIKON "G" lens.
Wrong end of the stick, Richard.
'G (elded),' means that the lens has no aperture ring, and is dependent on body controls - like those fitted to the D5100.
DX means that the lens is designed for cropped sensor DSLRs like, hmm oh, the D5100.
AF-S means that the lens has a built-in focus motor, and works with non-motorised bodies, among them the D5100.
You can find out what the rest means for yourself (it'll be good exercise), but this lens would be an excellent complement to your 18-55mm.
