Nikon DSLR Camera for video or Canon?

I currently have a Nikon D40x which I use for photography and a separate (Sanyo Xacti FH1a) for video however I have recently obtained about £700 ($1, 107) and am looking for a DSLR that can do video and photo obviously but preferably a Nikon as I already have a variety of lenses but I want 60fps video at either 720p or 1080p otherwise it won't be worth it in my opinion as I work with a lot of sports and require a high framerate.
I'm currently looking at the D3200 but does anyone know of any other Nikon DSLRs in my price range with those specs? Or would I be better off buying a Canon 600D (I don't want the 650D) and replacing the lenses?

Sony do better video than either.

You'll get conflicting opinions mostly because of brand loyalty. For me it's Canon.

For video you can't beat Sony, unless you can afford to go for the Canon 1Dx.

Each brand or system has its pros and cons. The Sony Alphas dSLTs really shine when it comes to video, and they can't be beat when it comes to features and abilities by any Canon or Nikon regardless of price.
For heavy video use, only the Sony dSLTs like the A37, 57, 65, 77, and forthcoming A99 can shoot video at 1080p at 24, 30 and 60 fps with fast phase auto focus, face recognition and smart object tracking. Nikon's, if they can even AF during video use slow contrast detect, same for Canon. Canon tried to slap some new tech in the T4i to speed up focus, but it still can't match the Alphas.
The Nikon D3200 is a fine entry level camera, but in terms of video function it can't touch a Sony dSLT. Also avoid it for low light work, it uses Sony's 24MP image sensor that was first used in Sony's A65 and A77, it is a sensor not suited to low light high ISO work. Most Canon and Nikon dSLRs do not shoot 1080p at 60 fps, check the official site for any model to confirm before you buy.
If you don't have a lot of Nikon glass, just pick a good Sony dSLT, the A57 is probably the sweet spot, maybe the A65 for more features. If you do stay with Nikon, I would look at a used D7000 if you want to buy right now. If you can wait, hang out see what Nikon does to update the D7000 (if they do) that way you can get the new model if it seems like a good deal, or go with the 7000 that will drop in price even more when a new model is announced.
Not sure how prices compare in your part of the world, I'm going off of USA prices, so take that info into account.
