DSLR video mode. Nikon D3100.does anyone know how to switch to video mode?
I'm on vacation and don't have the manual with me, don't have much experience with DSLR's and been trying to figure out where the video mode is for like two days now… Any help would be appreciated.
You need to activate the camera's live view mode by rotating the switch on the back of the camera. Set your lens' aperture in either A or M mode before you begin recording. Press the [i] button and select a focus mode, then choose an AF-area mode and focus. To start recording, press the movie record button (looks like it's very close to the live view switch based on the diagram in the manual). Press that button again to end the recording.
If you're able to view PDF files, you can access a copy of the official manual for your camera here: http://www.nikonusa.com/...oprint.pdf Recording movies is covered on pages 45 and 46.
