Nikon d80 For my first dslr.good idea?

SO i'm thinking of getting a nikon d80, this is my first dslr. It seems like a pretty nice camera. I'm not trying to go pro, i just want a decent dslr for consumer use like when i go on vacation or have holidays.otherwise i was thinking of a nikon 3100 as my other choice. What do you think?

The Nikon D3100 beats the D80 in a comparison. Plus, (unless you buy it used) the D80 is super expensive ($1, 000+).

MUCH better for beginners, considering there's a "Guide Mode".
