Both are identical same.

D7000 has slightly edge over 7D:

Sensor of D7000 is better
More Focus Point - 39 vs 19
More storage slots - D7000 has 2 memory card holder
Longer battery life

Nikon d7000 is better. The Nikon D7000 represents an evolution of the company's venerable D90 -- the first digital SLR with movie capture capability and the first mid-range model with a high-res 3.0-inch VGA LCD panel. Externally, the Nikon D7000 is similar to its predecessor in terms of size, weight, and much of the controlled layout, but adopts a weather-sealed, magnesium alloy construction like that of the D300S.

Before changing Canon to Nikon be sure to hold one in your hands and "have a play". A friend was showing off his D5100 and I had a play with it - didn't like it at all! Controls I take for granted on my 450D just aren't there on the Nikon without going into the menus (ISO and WB).
Obviously minor stuff like this is not necessarily a deal breaker but you do need to consider it.
If you have lenses, flash etc for your Canon that will add expense to the change.

I would stick with Canon!

Tough call. I've shot them both and they are very similar. I prefer the Nikon but if you already have Canon lenses there's no sense in switching brands.
