Nikon SLR Cameras

I want to buy a DSLR but do not know which one would be better to buy?

I'm debating on buying a Nikon D3100 a Nikon D7000 or the Canon T2I.

Now my budget is approx. $1500 - $2000 max (this will include accessories such as lenses, camera bag, filters ect… )

I'm not a novice or beginner. I'm studying FIlm Production and photography. I would like to use the camera for both still photography and HD video. I will also be using the camera for a couple of weddings.

I'm planning on buying 2 lenses, a 18 - 105 VR and a 55 - 300 VR lens.

SO basically I just do not know which camera would be better.

I have used the Nikon D3000 and really like how easy it is to use.

And I understand that the D7000 is not in stores yet as well as the D3100 but any information would be great.

Also I was wondering if there may be a soon-to-be-released successor of the Canon T2i that will blow the D7000 out of the water? And that I should wait for that?

So let me know. I would love to hear from both Canon and Nikon users so that the answers will not be bias.

The Nikon D7000 will be released in mid-October and may be worth the wait.

The D3100 is available now at about $700 USD.

It too has Full HD video (1080p) and can auto-focus in the video mode

Actually the D7000 blows the entry level T21 out of the water.

I have a colleague who owns a T2i. The T2i can't auto-focus in the video mode. He is waiting to get the D7000 when it becomes available and will do tests. He has done tests with the D3100 and it too can auto-focus in the video mode and he was going to buy one, but the D7000 was announced so he is waiting

People say that the D7000 is even better than the more expensive D300s.

quote: The D300s is a do not buy at this point. (because of the D7000, buy the D7000 instead of the D300s)

even say that the 60D's advantage over the D7000 is the articulated screen.
