Nikon D60 Battery problem?

My Nikon D60 is acting weird. When i put in the battery, even when its off, the memory card indicator lamp (light) is blinking. When i turn it on, the clock is reset, i reset it again and put the correct dates and time but after a few seconds its resets automatically again. Then the battery drains so fast. Is this a battery issue or there's something wrong with my camera?

Thanks

Added (1). A friend of mine has the same camera model and i tried his battery. It worked fine but after a few minutes it also does the same: clock resets and the memory indicator light flashes when its off. I think the battery is not the problem now. But the thing is i can still use it to take pictures. It just resets the date every couple of minutes and when i turn it off the light indicator flashes.answers are greatly appreciated.

That would depend on the age of the battery. These things don't last for ever. You might have it checked at a pro shop but I'd suspect the battery is done. When you buy, buy two and get the charger intended for those batteries regardless of the brand. If you buy anything other than the
Nikon OEM battery you'll need a new charger as well.
