Nikon D50, D90 Lenses?

OK. I'm totally confused by the Nikon coding system.
For use on a D50, D90, etc, which lenses have an adjustable lens aperture?
I don't like automatic. I want to select the aperture I want at the lens.
Is it a D, G, AF, OMG…

A G lens and almost all af-s lenses don't allow it. Anything below a d200 or d300 doesn't like you touching the aperture ring and will revolt unless you're in pure manual
