Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm lens worth it, 360 euros, or is the 18-55mm as bad as some say?
Added (1). Been looking to get a new digital camera - upgrading from P&S to DSLR - and I wanted to get a Nikon D3200 with the kit lens and maybe get a 35mm or 50mm later. But right now, my budget will only allow me to get it with the kit lens and that's already a budget-stretch for me. Or is there some place I can get the body or a lens for a cheap price?
Those who say that the entry level 18-55 mm is "bad" are clearly NOT experienced photographers.
It is the best lens for a novice to use for the first year or so until they fully understand the fundamentals of photography.
Buying a prime lens will NOT allow you to shoot landscapes, groups, full body shots and head and shoulder portraits. That is exactly what the 18-55 mm lens does.
The 50 mm is a medium telephoto lens, good for shooting portraits, but can't be used to shoot groups or landscapes. The 35 mm is also limiting. You have to use your feet to do any "zooming".
