Nikon d3100 wireless remote advice?

Okay so I'm pretty new to photography. I have a Nikon d3100 and I've been looking into buying a wireless remote for it so I don't have to use the self timer as much. The problem is I don't really know what I'm looking for. Any advice on where to start?

The D3100 does not support wireless remotes, sadly. Nikon basically intentionally starved it of features so that people buy the more expensive D5100 or D7000.

A cable remote should work though.

PRO SERIES Equivalent NIKON ML-L3 / MC-DC2 Wireless Remote works well and has great range. I like the added features such as the pre-focus and continuous shooting button too.
