Here is a recent review

The D3100 is a light and small DSLR. It has a great 14MP sensor (megapixels don't affect image quality, its just marketing, so don't worry), auto focus while recording videos, high ISO range with low noise.
Downsides - no AF motor, so before buying a lens, you need to check if it will focus on it (Which is nothing hard, every lens has a marking that tells you so).
The D3100 rocks!
