Nikkor 70 - 300mm f/4 - 5.6G AF is compatible with NIKON d5000?

I bought a nikon d5000 with 18 - 55mm lens, now i wish to upgrade it with an 70 -300mm lens as mentioned above but i found the price to be cheap, is this a manual or Auto focus lens and if i buy will it be compatible with my D5000, suggestions please.

It is also compatile but may not autofocus if not AF-S
