New YN-560 speedlight on Nikon D80?

First off, I'm new to flash photography. I'm pretty familiar and comfortable with my camera, and I recently decided to take things to the next level and buy my first external flash. I decided on the YN-560 since the price was right ($70 after shipping and handling). I understood that I was buying a totally manual flash without any TTL technology. I figured that I'd at least learn to adjust the flash manually without my camera doing it for me. The flash arrived in perfect condition and works with the test button… Only one simple question… How the heck do I get it to fire with my camera once it's on the hotshoe? Or is it supposed to do it on it's own? I'm guessing there's a setting in the camera menu that I need to change, but I haven't had any luck with an Internet search. Also, the manual is in translated Engrish. I'd really appreciate some help, I've tinkered a bit in my menu and haven't found anything yet. Any ideas?

Just a guess, the camera has built in flash setting, which may have been set to commander or manual or somehow changed.

The default should be TTL. Set the built in flash setting to TTL. I hope it works for you, if it does, remember that YN560 is still a manual flash, so you have to compensate the flash's power level.
