My older model eMachines desktop has a slot for a SD/MMC card, as well as several others?
I recently bought a Nikon D3000 camera along with an SD/HC card for it, but my pc won't recognize the high capacity card (PNY Optima SD/HC 8GB.) Is there anything I can do about it other than buying a new computer or reverting to a regular capacity card?
Yes, you can buy an USB card reader. There isn't any adaptor for going from SD to SD/HC.
You have a couple options. 1. Cable the camera directly to the computer via USB. Some cameras come with the cable to do just that. 2. Does your printer have card slots and recognize the format? Or you might be able to get away with buying a fairly cheap printer (on sale) that does. 3. Get a card reader that recognizes the format.
