My Nikon D90 digital camera says it's full when I try to take a picture?

I have a completely new sd card in the camera and when I check it says that there are no pictures on the SD card. When I actually try to take a picture it displays the word FULL. What's wrong?

Format the card in the camera not on your computer.

Try looking into getting Eye-FI 8GB Explore X sd card because it will upload your pictures onto the internet for you. Also check to see if it is compatible with your sd card!

When was the last time you actually had Formatted the Memory Card? Formatting should actually be done whenever the Memory Card is Brand New or after all of the photos gets downloaded onto the Computer at the end of each day.
