Every time i try to take a picture with my camera it turns off what should i do?

I just got a nikon coolpic LI20 and everytime i try to take a picture it shuts off, i tried putting new batteries in but it doesn't help. Can anyone help me?

Make sure the battery is charged/replace batteries.

Recharge the battery overnight. If the camera does not work after that, it's already broken.
