Yes. It will fit and meter ok but you will need to manually focus it (it will not autofocus). If you want an AF-S version, its the 50mm f1.4 AF-S but its much more expensive.

I have older Nikon AF film cameras that will meter with AI and non-AI lenses but Nikon left that feature out of many of their digital cameras.

I have second generation Nikon Digital cameras that will autofocus with all Nikon AF lenses.

I have chosen NOT to upgrade my entry level camera since so many of the new cameras will not work with my second generation AF lenses.

So I have AI and AI-s "orphans".
And another drawer full of AF and AF-D "orphans".
