Is there a remote i can do a time lapse with that works for nikon d3000?

I have had my nikon d3000 for about 6 months now and i want to try making a time lapse with out sitting at my camera all night is there a remote that can help me do so

Get an intervalometer. It's a remote control that has time lapse settings.

I have done timelapse on my Nikon D50 with a laptop using camera control v3.1 from DIYPhotoBits.com, not sure your camera is supported but don't see why it wouldn't be. Nikon Capture does it, too, but the app I used is free to download.
