Can we do Time Lapse Photography with Nikon D3200?
Does the Nikon D3200 have a Time Lapse Photography option. I'm really eager to shoot the morning in my city through Time Lapse.
If there's no inbuilt option then how can we do it manually?
You can find interval timers in more advanced Nikon dSLR cameras like the D300s or D7100.
Entry level cameras are able to be sold for under $1,000 because they do not have many of the features found on semi-pro and pro cameras
That said, you can manually make exposures using a remote shutter release so you do not bump or move the camera during the series of photos you need to produce a time lapse video (1440 images for one minute at 24 fps (cine.
Polaroid makes a remote shutter release that includes an interval timer. You can find it by searching Amazon.
Get an intervalometer so you can take a series of photos at set intervals.
Apparently you can't tether the camera to control it from a Windows computer (unless things have changed recently), but Aperture software will do it on a Mac.
On my camera I wanted to do a time lapse, but there was not an option so I just recorded a video for a few hours and significantly sped it up, It more or less gives the same effect but it takes up a lot of memory, so make sure you have some free space if you are going to do that!
The D3200 does not have a time interval option. You can purchase a product that will do the job, such as these.
