Is the Nikon d7000 as good as everyone says?

Is the nikon d7000 a good camera? Is it good for photographing people? I heard it overexposes and the colors look kind of blah. Would the canon 60 be better?

Overexposure and color balance is all the photographer's job, not the camera's.

The D7000 is probably the best bang for the buck camera on the consumer market right now

The D7000 is an advanced amateur camera, rivaling or surpassing some pro cameras only just a couple of years old. It is currently the only camera that can take advantage of the high speed SDHC UHS-1 memory cards.

Like the Dr.says, you will not find anything remotely close to performance and features for the money.

No matter what you look to buy, you will find naysayers for any product. A good 99% of the reviews on that camera are very positive.

If someone is getting overexposed photos, I'd wager they don't know how to use the camera. You can force any DSLR to overexpose or underexpose a photo - some do it for creative purposes - some do it by mistake.

If you know what you're doing, if you're shooting in raw and if you're using the right tools the D7000 can be an excellent camera.

Will the 60D be better? Both are excellent, go out there grab both camera and buy the one you'll feel the more comfortable with.

Here's some sample photos taken with the Nikon D7000. Use the drop-down Now Showing box to see typical types of photos. Or better yet, use the Search box to find subjects of interest to you.

After glancing at some of these over 6 million images, I don't see a problem with "over exposure" or blah colors.

If the food tastes bad, don't blame the pans - look at the cook, instead.

No, it's better.

And lol, overexposing and colors looking bad… Whoever said that has absolutely NO clue about photography and cameras. If it's overexposed it's because the photographer didn't adjust the settings properly. These kind of rumors ruin the joy of cameras.

60D is cheaper and therefore a bit slower, but also great. D7000 is a little bit more for action.
