Why do everyone thinks Kodak sucks?
I been using Kodak cameras for a while now. I had a kodak easyshare c143 for almost 3 years now. At first i was having problems with it and i previously posted a question about it. Everyone told me to just throw it away and get something more expensive like canon and nikon and that kodak was bad. I really didn't believe no one so i did more research and i learn that i was using the wrong batteries for it. I Almost THREW AWAY A PERFECTLY GOOD CAMERA. Anyway i continue using it until now. For christmas my dad got me a Kodak z990. I been using it ever since. It take Really good pictures and the zoom is wonderful. It takes even better pictures than my brother's nikon. My picture comes out clear while his comes out yellowish orange. And i can't compare kodak with canon. I believe canon is wonderful but canon is so expensive and my parents can't afford it. And my kodak z990 takes the same quality pictures than my friend's canon rebel EOS 600D.
Can someone explain why everyone thinks Kodak is bad? Am I just consider lucky? Or maybe because people drop their camera and expect it to still work.
They went bankrupt for a reason…
I've bought 4 Kodak cameras in 2 years because they break and don't work properly after a few months. I'm never buying one of their cameras again. So yeah, you are lucky.
I don't know but I got a new Kodak easyshare z5010 and I love it: D
I had a z990 before. Worked great and loved it.
Too bad it died on me two days after I bought it.
Well you have just hit upon certain prejudices! If a person reads any amount of this area, they "must" believe that only a "DSLR" with it's costly interchangeable lenses is the only way to go. I disagree for YOU and many others. In addition to being a professional photographer for many years, I sold cameras for 10 years in the 1960's-1970's! Not everybody is equipped mentally or financially to own a DSLR camera. This is not to say they are stupid, it just points to the fact that their interests lie elsewhere. I just recently gave away a Kodak z980 camera. Why because I just purchased a Pentax Kx (11/2011) and just had too many cameras! But the Kodak delivered an 11x14 print of a close-up of a rose that you could touch and almost feel the texture of the petals! So why are so many people down on Kodak. Well the simple answer is that the camera itself is not built especially rugged. But how many amateurs take 20-to-30 pictures every week? Yes just recently we have the fact that Kodak is in bankruptcy. Well that is a biggie but the fact remains that you get a very well designed camera for a reasonable price!
Here are the 3 reasons I purchased the Kodak.
1. First the lens is a Schneider formula from Germany where lenses where practically invented "quality-wise"! I have used these lenses all my career in photography and never had a problem.
2. The ease of handling this camera with it's "VERTICAL" shutter release is the cat's meow! Over 90% of my enlargements are vertical format.
3. The basic camera is simple and does not have every little feature jammed into it's software.
- Is the Nikon d7000 as good as everyone says?
- Where did everyone buy there nikon d5000?
- I have a Nikon D60 and I'm having trouble with portraits and bringing everyone into focus?
- Why is my Kodak EasyShare camera suddenly taking pictures in green?
- Interested in buying a Kodak printer for ink savings, but is the picture quality good?
