Is the Nikon D5000 compatible with the Macbook Pro?

I was wondering if the Nikon D5000 is compatible with the Macbook Pro. I was going to buy a Nikon D5000, but my mom found a review online from somebody saying that their Nikon D5000 was not compatible with their Macbook Pro. Now, I'm hesitant to order it. Can anybody confirm that it is/isn't compatible with the Macbook Pro?
Please say if you use the Nikon D5000 with a Macbook!

LOL
ALL dSLR's can be used with either PC's or Mac's.
Whomever could not get their images from the D5000 memory card to their MacBook Pro is incompetent as both a photographer and user of their computer. This is just basic stuff. Not rocket science
Anyone with experience with 1) using their computers file manager and 2) a fully adjustable camera can easily copy image files to their computer.

There's actually a pretty common problem where the photos on Nikon DSLRs sometimes won't show up on Macs when you connect the camera using a USB cord. Sometimes that problem simply has to do with not using the bundled Nikon software that comes with the camera, but I find that software clunky and useless. Personally, I've had trouble getting my D90 to show up on my Macbook when I connect it straight to the USB port.
Fortunately, all you need is a memory card reader, which you can get for about $15. I would suggest getting a card reader anyway because they will make downloading and managing your photos easier and quicker.
Otherwise, you shouldn't have any problems, and Nikons are great cameras!
