I have a Nikon D3100 and I plan on doing a photo shoot in a couple days and I want to be able to shoot photos and see them immediately after, is there some kind of cord that I can plug into my camera and connect it to my computer that way when I snap a picture it appears on my computer?

You can use a USB cord and import them into iPhoto. The camera should have come with software too.

What you are asking has nothing to do with copying your image files to your computer. That you do by removing the memory card and inserting it into the card reader on your computer.

What you are asking about is called tethering.

Only some cameras have that feature and your's doesn't

Here are the Nikon dSLR's that can be tethered to a computer, Apple or PC, using Adobe Lightroom 3.6
