I'm looking at these 2 DSLR camera's, the only difference being the model numbers, but what does the NVR mean? What's the difference over the other model?

the only difference i can find is the model number, but what is the NVR?

The way Nikon uses those terms, VR stands for Vibrational Reduction, and NVR stands for non-Vibrational Reduction. There are different reasons why you'd want to use either one and it has to do with the lens that comes with the camera body.

VR - vibration reduction is Nikon terminology, Canon calls it IS or image stabilization
Both Nikon & Canon have this stabilization in the lens
Sony & Pentax have this feature built in to their bodies & call it sensor shift

The NVR in your case means that the bundled 18-55 kit lens is non stabilized
Not a big deal, but certainly a good feature to have for raw hands or someone new to DSLR's

Besides, the VR package seems marginally cheaper than the NVR - so go for it
