Nope

You need the AF-S Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4 lens if you wish to use the auto-focus system on your D3000

The Nikon entry level cameras are inexpensive because it is believed that someone with a new camera system will be buying new AF-S lenses, the ultra fast focus lenses currently being made.

If you really wanted to use legacy lenses, you would have purchased a D90 or better camera

The Nikkor AF lens can be used on your D3000, but you will have to use the electronic rangefinder on your D3000 to focus it

As long as you're good with manual focus it will be fine. However, because Nikon chose to not include a focusing motor in the D3000 camera body if you want auto focus you'll have to buy the more expensive AF-S 50mm f1.8G. It will cost you about $90.00 more than the AF -50mm f1.8D so Nikon makes more money.
