Will this program be good to edit my pictures with for photography?
i own a nikon d5000.

If you're an editing beginner, Elements will do just fine. It has Guided Edit and Quick Edit workspaces for beginners that Photoshop doesn't have. It also costs a lot less and in a lot of ways, isn't as confusing as Photoshop. If you take photos in RAW format, it has the Adobe Camera Raw workspace to process them.
