If a dslr camera can only film in 24p is that a limitation or is 24p good quality?

Anyone know? My brother has a Nikon D7000 and thinks I should get it over a Nikon D3200 which also has 30p for video butmaybe 24p is more of the standard? In this case let's just say for wedding videos.

24p is what they use to film in such as hollywood it is good and gives it that advantage and film feel yeah go for the d7000 also get one with a mic jack and a flip screen for better movies too

24 fps is the standard for cinema
30 fps is the standard for NTSC video

Whatever you do, don't get the D3200, the image sensor is a dog in low light at high ISO. DxOmark test scores don't explain that high pixel count image sensors cheat the test for a higher number.

24 is the standard for major motion pictures, so it can give your footage a more film 'feel' but don't expect much if you don't have a big budget, lighting, the knowledge, and skills in post production, honestly.

If you can afford it, get something that's cleaner in low light. The D7000 is really good camera, but for less money you can get the same or better Sony image sensor in a Sony A580, Nikon D5100, Pentax K30, and Sony A57. Of course make sure you have things you need like a mic jack, headphone jack, does the dSLR auto focus when shooting video? Not all do. Even though you might manual focus it's nice to know, you might want to shoot video of sports or other fast moving action.

For manual focus, does the camera have focus peaking? Only the Sony does for both video and stills, I think the new Pentax K 30 is stills only. Anything but the D3200.
