I just got a new Nikon D90 and i can't get it to charge, what do i do?
I just got a really nice camera for Christmas, and it was used and i plugged it in to like 4 different chargers, and it won't charge so i don't know what to do D:
The camera is a Nikon D90
Added (1). It Came With a Charger And An Adapter that Says Palm On It, But There's no Charging Light That Comes On.
Added (2). Okay I Just Plugged It Into The Usb Cord, and the Adapter, Into The Wall But It Still Won't Charge, Even With the Charger I Got It With, But I Don't Know If It's The Right One, I Got It At A Pawn Shop…
Added (3). Yeah I Don't Have A Charging Station, all i have Is a Cord with an adapter, It Didn't Come With One Of Those:/
Added (4).
This Is How I Have It And It's Plugged Into The Wall.
Added (5). I Went And Bought A Charging Station Thing, Like This
Am I All Good Now?
Wait a minute.
Nikon sends the correct charger in the box with the camera.
If you put your battery in it and let it charge for about three hours, the charging light will eventually stop blinking and that tells you that the battery is fully charged
You need to get the charger, CD, USB cord and A/V cord from the seller.
Do NOT attempt to use a generic charger. This can lead to over heating the battery (which can casue premature failure, fire or even an explosion)
See the little door on the bottom of the camera? That is where the battery is stored. You will need to remove the battery and charge it in a battery charger made for that camera. You can buy the chargers from Nikon, or you can buy after market charger and battery combos on several websites.
Do you mean you plugged into 4 different USB ports in your computer? DSLR cameras do not charge by USB. You take the battery out of the bottom, put that in the changeling station and plug that charging station into the wall socket.
No matter what happened I think you need to sit down and read the manual before you do something to hurt your camera beyond repair. Luckily enough, you now have 3 hours of free time!

and read this
Did you just place the battery on the charger, or did you also slide it downwards into a locked position?
Like you can see on this image:
Edit:
Could you take a photo e.g. With your cellphone camera of the charger and adapter that you have and how you have it all set up, and then upload that photo to e.g. Www.tinypic.com?
I do have a D90 too, and my charger for its battery does not have an adapter at all.
Edit 2:
You can't charge the battery of the D90 without a charging station. A photo of what you have would be very helpful.
Did you plug that adapter thing into the wall, and from the adapter there's a USB cord that goes to the camera? If so, then better take it out immediately. At best it just powers the camera (but it won't load the battery), at worst it causes damage.
Edit 3:
Ah i see… No, you can't charge the battery that way, and i wouldn't try to turn on the camera either. Probably it just does nothing at all, but i wouldn't take that risk. Get a charger as a replacement part from a photo store or amazon or something like that.
Edit 4:
That doesn't look like the original Nikon charger (refer to the image that i linked to for reference)… So be aware of fhotoace's advice about generic chargers.
Enjoy your camera!
