Just make sure your "strobe lighting" is either the correct voltage, or you could burn up the circuits in your camera. If you do have an older electronic flash, you don't have to scrape your lighting equipment. You can purchase a Wein Safe-Synch for about $50.00 which will protect your camera's circuitry.

Yes. The AS-15 adds a PC socket to your hot shoe. There are generic devices on Ebay that both add the PC socket, and give you a second hot shoe if you need it. Neither is expensive.
