How to wipe an SD card clean on a Nikon d5100?
This is a card that I have used on two different Nikons. I forgot to wipe it on my d3000, so now I only have deleted the pictures that I took on the d5100 because that's the only camera I have with me at the moment. I do not have access to a computer. So I need to get rid of the d3000 pictures on it.
If you're 100% sure you want to get rid of everything, you'll need to format the card. Press the menu button, scroll down to the wrench and click "format card." You should be doing this every time you upload the pictures to your computer.
Just reformat the card in your D5100 - it will recover the filespace from both your D3000 and D5100.
Just use the Format command.
I hope you're not deleting the images one-by-one using the Trash Can button. This puts much more strain on the card than simply formatting it.
