How to take picture of rain with Nikon D3100?
I was wondering if anyone can give a setting that helps me to take picture of rain drops, or the drops of water. At nights and in the light. My camera is Nikon D3100, and I'm an amateur.
First - shoot out from under-cover! Don't get your camera wet! It is not even water resistant.
Trial and error is the answer! Camera on a triposd. Use manual focus to focus around 10 feet away. Use manual exposure with a small apertture (f/11). Then use the flash on second curtain sync to freeze the rain. Try using different shutter speeds between 1 sec and 1/00 (assuming at night with some avaialble light) to get frozen raindrops with a trail behind them (hence 2nd curtain sync).
