I reckon you had better go to plan B.
Your Yeti will not record to your d700. The USB on your camera is for file transfer to your computer.
"i hear your supposed to sync it or something" This is done in your editing program after you have recorded to a different Digital recording device and transferred those files to your computer.
In your Editing program you put your video on the time-line and you audio onto the audio track and arrange them to be in sync.

I hope you understand that a USB mic only connects to a computer, it does not plug into a camera. You then use the computer as an audio recording device using software like "audacity" which you can download free. Then when you edit the camera video in the computer, you also import the audio file you created with audacity. You need a fairly sophisticated video editor that has a lot of audio functions to be able to do the sync. It won't be easy because the codec used in the Nikon is not frame accurate, it takes only about 4 frames per second, the missing frames are interpolated on playback making sync near impossible.next time get a camcorder.
