How's the Nikon D3100 for Action Shots?

I'm interested in buying a D3100, and i would like to be able to use it for action shots, like bmxing or skating.

Added (1). And the maximum fps being 3 fps, how is it for sequence shots (bursts)

It is a DSLR, so like any other DSLR it is great for action shots… As long as you take the time to learn how to use it properly that is.

If you use it on Auto mode, then it will perform like a point and shoot. If you learn how to use it in Manual mode, it is excellent.

Like every DSLR camera- perfect. You will find that any current DSLR will do what you want it to do- its just a matter of how you set it up

Sony A33 does 7fps and the video auto-focus is FAR faster.
