How many raw photos will fit on an 8GB memory card?

How many photos can a card hold? That is very basic maths - but if you find it too confusing, there are tons of easy charts around, such as these ones:

Several factors are involved.

Depends. R your photos all buddy-buddy like or do they hate each other's guts like whoa? If they r squabbling & bickering you don't wanna put more than a dozen or so on a memory card that size. They need room 2 roam & stretch out or u'll never b able 2 live w/ them.

According to the Manual, you will be able to shoot approx. 472 RAW images per 8GB.

I prefer to shoot in RAW+Jpeg with my Canon… However, Nikon doesn't give you a great option for shooting this because it only allows a Basic quality (low res.) Jpeg.So, you're better off shooting only in RAW or only Jpeg (Large/Fine… Approx. 1080 images per 8GB).

p.s. Don't forget to format any brand new memory card before using the first time. Reformat the card every time you need to delete all files from it.
