How many pictures can I take on an 8GB Kodak Memory?

I have an 8GB memory card and the camera I use is a Nikon D3100

How many pics can I take?

I have a 4gb memory card it takes 1000+ photos

8Gb holds alot of photos more like 10, 000 in estimation… And If its in HD half of it.

It depends on what format you are shooting in - jpg (basic, standard or fine) or raw, or raw + jpg.

Jpg basic will give you the most images on the card, raw + jpg the least.

If you're saving images as JPG, probably around 900 - 1, 000.
If you're saving in RAW, about 300.

It entirely depends on what format you use and the dimensions in pixels of each side and quality.

look at a folder of images taken… Take 5 images and find a mean value. Then divide the card's memory size with the mean value to get a rough idea ± 3/5 images.

To give you an idea I shoot RAW 14bit files (each image is approx. 25MB) on a 12Mp D3 and get 302 odd shots on a 8MB card… JPG and the count runs into thousands
