How is editing pictures on the Macbook Pro?
I would like to get a Macbook one of these days. I'm an up and coming photographer and need something that has a lot of storage for photos and has a killer Photoshop and editing software. I work with a Nikon D3000 and a Nikon D5000 so I need professional effects for editing.
And overall… Do you all around recommend a Mac? I work with a Samsung desktop right now… An upgrade would always be nice.
Added (1). I would just be getting the 13 inch Mac.
A mac is a power house, so you'll get extremely advanced yet relatively simple photo editing tools. One is the in built preview, then there's Aperture (advanced) and iPhoto (simple) from the App Store. Very cool. Very poweful. Very fast.
The killer photoshop is called Adobe Photoshop CS5 - it's the industry standard image editor. Macs don't come with this software - you have to buy it. Adobe Photoshop CS5 costs $700 for the standard edition.
It works on Macs and windows PCs.
There's nothing you can do on a mac you can't do on a PC. What you do on a computer depends on the software and the skill of the operator, not on the computer's Operating System.
A 13" macbook has too small a screen for using graphics software efficiently. You want something with at least a 17" screen. Ideally a desktop computer is what you want for photo retouching. The bigger the monitor the better.
