How to turn the lcd display on for my nikon d5000?

I have nikon d5000 and i want to view the shot on the display

Hit the play button to the left of the display at the top of the buttons to view photos, the LV button to the right takes you into live view for display shooting.

If you want to see the image immediately after shooting it, go to the menus > Playback Menu > Image Review and select "On." The default setting shows the display for 4 seconds. If you wantit to display for a longer time, go the menus > Custom Settings > c2-Auto Off Timers and select "long." If you want to turn off the display faster, just tap the shutter release button.
