Lcd screen on my Nikon D5000 has a shattered appearance?

My friend dropped my D5000 the other day, now when I use the LCD screen, it has a "shattered" appearance, but the screen itself isn't visablely damaged. Is there any way to fix this myself?

No, sorry, there's not. Contact Nikon for repairs and contact your insurance.

You probably damaged the LCD.

Like the other poster said, contact Nikon for repairs. You might be able to do it yourself if you talk to them and just order the LCD component.

The screen is damaged, but you might have also damaged the mirrors and optics in the camera if it was dropped hard enough to shatter the LCD. I would send it in for repairs and a check up to make sure all is well with the body.
