How to become a freelance photographer?

Genius! D

I love to take pictures with my iPhone 4, and I have thought about becoming a freelance photographer after I graduate high school later this year. I have decided to buy a Nikon D3100, since cameras such as those are recommended for beginners.

But how exactly can I get started? What do I need other than a camera? And do I need to attend some kind of photography class or something?

You need a degree in photography. Freelance photography is not a high paying career unless you become one of the famous few.

First you have to become a photographer.

This can take some time attending school learning how to use a fully adjustable camera under any and all lighting conditions

Next you need to spend five to ten years working as either a staff photographer for a big newspaper, magazine or agency OR as an assistant to a freelance photographer

By that time, you should have the equipment you need and know how to use it, anywhere, anytime and also have a good grasp on how to run a business and what it costs to run a business.

Just buying the right tools will NOT make you into a successful photographer

Photography is a vast world. There are many different types of photography and many different kinds of people that enjoy it.It's a hobby that be relatively inexpensive or one that you can invest a lot of money on.
Photos are so special because they give us memories of times and places and events in our lives. We can hold onto these memories forever with a photograph.
