Foggy lcd screen and foggy pictures upon review on my d3100 nikon?
I have a nikon d3100 camera. I shot some soccer in the rain and the camera got a little wet. Whenever i turn on my camera the lcd screen fogs up and the pictures come out foggy. How do i fix it?
You will have to take your camera into a repair shop and have that issue addressed.
In the future, carry some "rain sleeves" with you to protect your camera and lens from rain. There's NO such thing as getting a camera a "little" wet.
Even cameras which have environmental seals to keep moisture and dust out of the camera need to be protected from rain.
Remove the battery immediately! If there's enough moisture in the camera, the electronics could be damaged due to electrolysis.
Remove the lens, open the battery cover and let the innards of the camera dry out. If you can place the camera in a hot car with dry air (run the air conditioner to reduce humidity and leave the car parked in the sun), do so. Do not put the camera in direct sun while drying. Some will tell you to stick the camera with rice, but warm dry air is more effective.
You may need to get your sensor cleaned after leaving the lens off for a long period of time.
I've used this technique while out in the bush two times with friends cameras, except, the cameras were left in direct sun sitting on a rock. The DSLR dried out in an afternoon, the point & shoot took 3 days since there's limited access to the innards.
Turn off camera and take off the batteries. Let is stand to dry in front of the aircon for a week or so.
I would put mine, with battery and lens our and all flaps open, in a small room with a dehumidifier running.
Or go to a craft shop and get some dry packs of silica and put them and the open camera in a big bag.
