Does the Nikon D3100 have manual override for its photography mode?
I know that it doesn't have any manual settings for its video mode, but how about photography? Thank you!
Added (1). Hey, guys. Thanks for the all of the answers so far. I'm currently starting a Photography module in college, but I'm afraid I'm a bit clueless about everything! I need a DSLR camera and manual override is a must. It sounds like the Nikon D3100 is exactly what I'm looking for.
It has a bunch of scene modes but also aperture priority where you set the aperture and the camera does the rest, shutter speed priority and full manual control. All the basics you'd need on a DSLR are present.
Are you just learning about dslr cameras? If you are some more reading will do you lots of good.
That's what dslr cameras are all about, full manual control for photography.
It's also important to know the relationship between ISO, shutter speed, aperture and light. All these controls are available on any dslr.
Actually the Nikon D3100 does have a manual mode in the still mode.
You just set your camera in the "M", manual, mode and place the lens in the M mode as well. Then your camera is totally manual Page 62 and 77 of your user manual
In the video mode, you can shoot using either in the manual-focus mode or auto-focus mode
Yes it allows you control all your settings manually. In fact, all dslr cameras do.
