Does the Nikon EM have manual override?
I'm going to take a class that requires an SLR with manual override. I'm not really sure what manual override means. Does this camera have it?

The EM doesn't have manual settings. You'll need something like the FG or FG-20. Better would be a FM2n or F3-HP. I think the EM may have had only one manual setting. Something like 1/90, I'm not sure. It's more or less a point & shoot 35mm.
The EM was an SLR aimed at new women photographers who couldn't do aperture and shutter speed (not sexist, wiki says so as well!). Get yourself a Nikon F501, 601, 801, which only have manual modes really, yet still have AF, you can pick em up for about £50 body only, then a simple lens will be £70+.
