Canon Camera vs Nikon?

OK so here is the thing, my Uncle has a Canon Camera it's a DSLR I don't remember the name of it, and I have a Nikon D5000 and his pictures come out somewhat of a "bloom" effect his pictures somehow give of a nice glow to them, while my Nikon D5000 when I take pictures they come out like if there nothing just a regular snap shot, I really love the bloom thing the Canon gives them. But I don't think my NIkon can

I could get a better picture with a d3000 that has a 40mm f/2.8 than a D3x with a kit lens.
It's All about the lens! Your camera body is the lesser half of the equation, invest about $300-500 in a good lens, and put your uncle to shame!

Try the 50mm f/1.8, and the 40mm f/2.8. Just go on amazon and search them!
