Okay so I have been trying to decide for a very long time
I want to get cheap but still decent lenses like 50mm and 8mm sigma fisheyes and stuff
I will be using for short films, to film skateboarding and fo when I go tocollege in two years so I want something that will last and is really good
Okay so I realize that the canon is better for video and the nikon better for photos so many people say go for the canon however but I prefer the nikon but there are a few problems there's not full manual control in video also I don't know I'm going tosound like a noob here but I'm only 14 so yeah the bot shoe is different on the nikon so how can you fit the external mi in or is it a cold shoe or something also I want to be abl to add a boom mic and just generally which us better and why do I really need full manual control will I regret not having it?

Also which is just overall best with pros and cons off both cameras thanks

For recording videos, you should buy an actual camcorder/video camera. Despite popular belief, DSLRs do not offer better video quality than actual camcorders and are not replacements for actual camcorders. DSLRs are designed to take stills - the manufacturers have added video capabilities to them so uninformed people buy them to record videos.

ALL dSLR cameras have "hot shoes"

Here is the most successful external microphone for capturing sound when using a dSLR as a video recorder.

This mounts on separate microphone stand

Here is how the sensors of the two cameras compare. If you are shooting in low light, you can see which one you need to look closer as a possible tool for shooting video

Recommended as a first-time DSLR, the Canon 600D has ample of features. There's so much to do with this camera. As soon as I learn one feature, it's on to the next exciting one. Takes amazing photographs. Just last night, I took some outstanding low-light shots that were exciting for a newbie like me, and would not have been do-able with a standard point-and-shoot. I really like the swivel on the live view when doing video clips, which was another reason I chose this camera over competitive models. You can use the live view to shoot stills as well, but I'm trying to learn the manual features and the viewfinder to get better acquainted with the camera.
