Cannon Rebel vs Nikon D3100?
I was looking into buying a new camera. I will be taking photos that have to be high quality and YouTube videos that I really want to be 1080p HD. I know the YouTuber, brendagoesrawr, has the Nikon D3100 and I love her video quality! I found it on sale for $549. I was wondering, though, if the Cannon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR Camera w/ 18-55mm (I know thats a lot longer haha) is better? They are both the same price so I was wondering if anyone had experience with it.
All DSLRs are capable of taking high quality photos… But for recording videos, you should buy an actual video camera/camcorder. The D3100 outperforms the T3, but not to the point where you would notice a difference.
D3100 is better than T3.
Advantages of D3100 are:
1. Higher Movie resolution - 1080p vs. 720 p (T3)
2. Lower Noise at high ISO
3. Has cleaning sensor (not in T3) which is important features
4. Large Sensor
5. More focus point - 11 vs. 9 in T3
6. Better colour depth
7. Large LCD screen
Advtnages of T3 are:
1. Better battery life (Almost double)
2. Built in Auto Focus motor (you can use old lens which has not auto focus motor)
3. Slight bigger viewfinder
4. Better maximum light sensitivity - 6400 ISO vs. 3200
Now the choice is your which features you want most.
For me the Nikon D3100 is the clear winner of the two. Amazon has better prices:
