Can you put a Nikon Film Lens on a Nikon DSLR?
The film lens is Soligor C/D for Nikon AI 200mm Tele Macro Lens NR and i want to put it on my nikon D90 DSLR? I'm looking at buying it on ebay! And just wondering if it will actually work?
thanks! : )
This is the description for the lens on ebay --->
Soligor Tele Macro 200mm 1:3.5 lens
manual focus Nikon AI Mount
Soligor lenses were reknown for high quality. Optics on this lens can best be described as very clear but with a small blemish of fungus on one edge of front optic. There are no cleaning marks on front and back lens elements. Aperture blades free of oil and snappy in operation. Please study pics for fungus. The focusing and aperture rings function very smoothly. Exterior is very good.
Description - Soligor C/D Tele 200mm Nikon AI mount #17802903
Original front / rear caps
Made in Japan
The lens should fit. It should work with the camera in manual mode. There would be no auto focus and no metering.
Flash will only work if you switch the flash from TTL to manual mode.
Do the lens mounts match between film and digital cameras? If so you might take a chance but with a lens that is about 40-to-50 years old I wouldn't!
