So there's a fashion show coming up on saturday, and i can't find my digital (Nikon D3100). The only camera i have is my Visitar Film Camera (35mm SLR). Now this fashion show is going to be fast paced and i'm worried my film camera will be too slow! Do you think i can use this Camera for this fashion show? Should i try to borrowing a digital Camera? If so What camera do you recommend?

Added (1). So i found my digital Camera lol. Yeah my house is under renovation so i couldnt find it.

I think the digital will be better for quick-fire shots, the film is a bit slow.

1) Can you develop the film yourself?
2) Can you go black and white?
3) How much money will it cost to develop the film?
4) How many pictures will you take?

Black and white will work better than color for film.
The cheaper the film is to develop, and the less pictures you take, the more feasible film is.
Film is good at making shots count.
A slow film camera will keep you from over-using film or throwing away film frames on pointless shots.
Or reduce that, anyway. Or at least, it should.
You can use the film, just put quality over quantity.

HOW do you LOSE something like a digital SLR camera for crying out loud? I don't think you need to be shooting the show with a film camera, and if you do, a Vivitar will probably work a lot better than a Visitar. Frankly, I don't think you need to be walking the streets unattended.

What do you think was used prior to digital cameras?

Unless you have developed film and printed it before now, don't even think of trying to do it yourself - much too complex and risky on a real job., and more expensive as a one-off than sending to a lab.

Getting film processed: Nowadays colour is cheaper than b/w in the high street labs. Get a CD of those pics at the same time as the film is processed.

But really - can't find your camera? Will you be able to find the models as the come at you! Do you know that your film SLR still works? Vivitar was not a good brand in the last 30 years. I suggest a test film shot and processed before the real job. Borrow another digicam? Will you be able to find out how to use it in time?
