Can a Britek PS 300 light auto slave with a Nikon D5000?
I'm trying to set up the slave so I can get my D5000 to automatically sync up with my Britek external flash… Not able to find much on the web about it. I have two Britek PS300 that came with sync cords. I got this set with no instructions on how to put it all together (I've figured it all out for the most part) just can't figure this one out!
Using the onboard flash of your camera will only work if you can turn off the pre-flash metering and red-eye reduction features. I don't know if you can or not, that will be in your manual. If you can, then you can use the onboard as an optical trigger for the slaves in the flash units.
If you can't, then you will need something like a Nikon AS-15 adapter, a $20 part that sits in your hot shoe and adds a PC sync socket to your camera. You then connect one flash via the cable, which will trigger the second flash when it goes off.
